Held every Thursday morning at 10:30, this storytime is most appropriate to those age 18-36 months, though everyone is welcome.  We'll sing songs, do fingerplays, and read a couple of fantastic books; and, as always, we'll end with the Ba

 Friday Morning Storytime is at 10:30; and will include songs, fingerplays and some great stories.  Afterwards, there will be a snack. This storytime is most appropriate for the preschool crowd, everyone is welcome.

Event Details

Fun and games for toddlers and preschool age children! Every Wednesday morning in the library meeting room at 11:00 am until 11:30 am. Adults must accompany their child and sometimes can join in the fun.

Get rid of distractions, come into the present moment, contemplate the art in front of you, notice the detail, let yourself just be with the art. Supplies and art exercises provided. 

Taught by teen intern Aela Buchanan, a two-day class to choose, pin, and frame a real butterfly. You will be provided with a butterfly, shadow box for display, and any necessary materials for pinning and decoration.

One-on-one reading helps kids gain confidence. This program is open to all kids from beginning readers to those looking to practice with a patient, furry listener.

Fun Fridays occur every Friday, 3:00 - 4:30.  Each week will be something different; arts, crafts, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math), games, and more.  Snacks will be available for participants

The Read What You Want (RWYW) Book Club meets every second Wednesday of the month. This is a book club for rebels who like to read whatever they want. We discuss the books we've read, what we liked and what we didn't.

Cookin' the Books is a book club for people who love to cook. Each month we set a theme, pick a recipe from a cookbook that fits the theme and we bring a dish to the potluck at the Maupin City Park community building.

The Dalles Public Library is starting a Clean Reads Book Club!

We‘ll meet monthly to discuss Christian based Fiction, and even some non-fiction reads if there is interest.

This is a course to continue the fundamental skills covered in the Four Chord Fun ukulele class. We will learn many new chords, strumming patterns, and techniques as we play seven new songs.

This will be the final Music & Magic in the Park for this year!  This family friendly event, in partnership with Northern Wasco County Parks & Rec, will be at 6:00 on Wednesday August 14th.
